Stat Corner: As Reyes Goes...
Jose Reyes has not stolen a base since last September 15th against the Phillies. That makes 21 consecutive games without swiping a bag. By the way, the Mets are 7-14 in those games.

Professional wrestling superstar JBL was on my subway coming back from the Mets game. Oddly enough, this is the second time I’ve spotted him in transit. Both JBL and Tazz were on my flight to Miami the weekend before Thanksgiving 2007.

Phillies Shortstop Jimmy Rollins during a taped piece on the Phillies broadcast yesterday… He was asked about Mets CF Carlos Beltran’s boast that the Mets would “win the NL east” this season…. Rollins was explaining how it was the Mets who took his prediction last season personal and that he meant the whole division better look out….. that’s when he said the above…. when said aloud it sounds pretty funny, so I thought I’d share it - Peter

i had hoped to see this team play out of the gate as though they had no choice but to redeem themselves for what happened last year…because, you know what, they have no choice…they need redemption, otherwise a whole lot of people will be looking for new jobs next season…i hoped that the Mets would remember the Collapse, not brush it off, using it is motivation to start hot, emotionally and in the standings, to send a message to us, the Braves, Phillies, etc, that this year will be different……so far, that has not happened…
